Video Project to Challenge the U.S. Auto Establishment

Postby ladyliberty » Fri Mar 27, 2009 10:52 am

Is there a modern day Preston Tucker in our presence? Given the anti-competitive practices of the Detroit automakers (with the help of the federal government), we may never know...

I only recently saw the Tucker movie for the first time (yes, I'm a little behind). By the end, I was in tears. How could such a thing happen in "the land of opportunity". Can dreams really NOT come true unless you are politically connected or part of an elite dynasty? What about the little guy? Why does government help prop up companies that make cars people don't want (read: recent auto bailouts), while denying the public cars it does want (Tucker Car)?

I'm currently working to raise money for a video project that would address these issues. Our goal is to create a one-hour documentary to be pitched to cable television.

Suggestions are most welcome.

(And many thanks to those keeping the Tucker spirit alive!)

Where to begin! There are so many choice words (some constructive, some not) that many would love to give to the auto industry right about now. Email me through the forum, I may have a few brainstorms to contribute.
